International BMX Day 2018 was held on Friday, 20 July, and saw host of local riders gather at The Shred Skatepark in Cape Town for some good times and to celebrate.
The lunchtime warmup got underway as riders, friends and spectators rolled in. With a choice of the bowl and street section, there was something for all to enjoy. Later in the afternoon things kicked off with a a few challenges like the Rail Session, Quarterpipe Blast and the High Hop.
Vincent Leygonie was seen blasting around in his usual wild fashion. Paul Soderlund and Nathi Steeze destroyed the quarterpipe with various tricks. Murray Loubser and Malcolm Peters were killing the bowl, getting huge airs and wallrides. Francois Bodenstein, who rode like a boss all evening, landed a huge transfer from one of the quarters over a bank and into a small bank to Fakie.
All-in-all BMX Day was such a fun day to celebrate good times on two 20″ wheels. Shout-out to everyone that pulled through and added to the celebration.
