The 2nd stop of the 2014 Billabong Junior Series presented by BOS took place in small but contestable surf at Long Beach in Cape Town. The forecast for a slight increase in swell came on cue for the final day of surfing. The sun was shining and the masses came out to witness SA’s best junior surfers compete.
The U12 Boys division was tight hussle with local boy Ford Van Jaarsveldt taking the overall. Sebastian Williams cleaned up in the U14 Boys division. The U14 Girls division was dominated by Kirsty McGillivray. Ruth Armstrong took the win in the U16 Girls Division while Jake Elkington was crowned the U16 Boys champ.
The premier U20 Pro Junior Girls division was taken by Emma Smith who continued with her dominance of the division. Gina Smith finished in 2nd with Anoush Zakarian in 3rd and Chanelle Botha in 4th.
Max Armstrong stacked up the high scoring moves to take the win from Steven Sawyer in the U20 Pro Junior Men division. Matt McGillivray took home 3rd place ahead of 4th place finisher Joshe Faulker.
