Ballito Women’s Pro and Ballito Pro Trails

The 2015 Ballito Pro surfing contest got underway yesterday, 28 June, kicking off with the Ballito Women’s Pro and the Ballito Pro Trails presented by Billabong.

Nikita Robb claimed the Ballito Women’s Pro victory defeating Fay Zoetmulder, Teal Hogg and Heather Clark in the final contested in tricky 1 metre waves. Robb took home the R10 000 prize cheque and 1 000 QS points.

16 year old Samukeliswe Cele made history by becoming the first female Zulu surfer to compete ina WSL event. Cele finished 3rd in her quarter final showing plenty of potential.

Brazil’s Robson Santos’ superior wave selection and technical manoeuvres saw him win the Ballito Pro Trails. Santos finished ahead of Flavio Nakagima, SA’s Matt McGillivray and Reo Inaba. The 1st and 2nd places of Santos and Nakagima secured them a spot in the main Ballito Pro event, which runs until 5 July.
