A lineup of the world’s best emerging and current surfers have been confirmed for the 2015 Ballito Pro presented by Billabong. The surfing contest takes place from 29 June and runs until 5 July at Willard Beach in Ballito, KZN.

Over 140 surfers from around the globe applied for a spot in the 96-man field. The Ballito Pro is the 3rd of only 11 events that carry the highest QS ranking in 2015. Current QS ranking leader Jeremy Flores heads up the lineup and will be joined by 17 of the top ranked WSL Championship Tour competitors, and 7 of the top 10 QS in the battle for the R3 million prize purse and ranking points.
2010 Ballito Pro champion and current world No. 4, Jordy Smith will be competing on home surf and attempt to become the first multiple winner of the event since 1991, and the fifth in the 47 year history of the longest running surfing contest. Tim Reyes will also be back to defend his 2014 title.

While Smith and Beyrick de Vries are the only South Africans to qualify for the 96-man field, Michael February and Dale Staples have been allocated the WSL Africa regional wildcards on the strength of their 2014 rankings.

The 2 final spots in the main event will go to the top finishers of the 32-man Ballito Pro Trails, which will run on the 28th June. The 16-strong field for the Ballito Women’s Pro will run in conjunction with the Trails.
