Hailing from the Strand area, young natural-footer Adin Masencamp is on a hunt for the win at this weekends Billabong Junior Series Final at Seal Point, Cape St Francis. Currently placed second behind Jordy Maree in the 2016 WSL Africa Junior Championships, he will be going all out to get the title, as well as claim a spot in the WSL Africa squad to compete in the world Junior Championships in Australia in January 2017. Masencamp won the Billabong Junior Series event in Ballito in June and is sitting with 1560 points, while Maree, who won the Vans pro Junior Surf Classic at Lamberts Bay in June, has 1750 points.

Adin thrives on a wave like Seal Point, a right-hand point-break that naturally favours the natural footed surfer. He is fast and dynamic, knows how to surf above the lip, and keeps a close eye on his health and fitness. He also has that Big Match Temperament that is needed to get ahead in the highly competitive junior surfing arena.
One of the elements that is so needed in order to be a successful surfer, is that absolute love for surfing, which Adin is full of. When he’s not surfing in a contest, he is frothing out at any of his favourite surf breaks around the Strand area, Caves, Beaches, Bikini’s, Reef and any of the spots that are just around the corner and up the way.
Having talent, and being one of the fastest surfers in the junior zone, he will most likely be on a winner’s podium by the end of the weekend.
