Action Sports returned to Sun City over the weekend as South Africa’s top BMX and Skate athletes battled it out at the 2021 ULT.X African Championships powered by Suzuki. The world-class park setup, with both park and street style obstacles, made for an exciting weekend closely fought contests.
In the Skate Finals, after taking 2nd place at the last ULT.X held in 2019, Khule Ngubane redeemed himself by taking his first ever ULT.X win. Showing excellent form throughout the contest and taking risks that paid off. Khule’s runs, packed with banger tricks like the Nolly Crip down the Habba, 5-0 Tailslide down the Habba, Kickflip Back Lip and Front Blunt Bigspin, scored high with the judges.

Devandre Gallant nailed runs packed with tricks to slot himself into 2nd place. Included in those runs were the likes of a Nollie Shuv Backside Boardslide to Fakie and a 180 Nose Grind.

Ethan Cairns’ Shuv to Flat, Front Feeble and Front Node Blunt down the Handrail scored him enough point to take the final step of the podium.

Allan Adams – Switch 5-0
Kalvyn Mac Millan – Frontside Air
Skaters absolutely slayed during the Best Trick but it was Simon Stipcich landing a Switch Tre Flip Lip to take the win.
