The Pro 1 Class made for some interesting battles. In the final Sebastian Rich took it to newcomer, Pierre van Reenen. The battle was enthralling and unfortunately Van Reenen spun his car into a donut in the last corner of the final tandem narrowly missing out on the podium’s top spot. 1st place went to Rich, 2nd place to Van Reenen followed by Trevor Puren in 3rd place.

The PRO Class was a nail-biting showdown that left the local crowd and fans awestruck with the best drifting the 2018 season has experienced. Qualifying was compelling and engaging with top performances going to Shane Gutzeit who qualified in 1st place followed by Jason Webb in 2nd. This would set the bar and trend for the most impactful tandem battles to date in the SupaDrift Championship.

Standout Top 8 competitors like Brendon Puren, Joey Govender, Chris Long and Adam Shefer, all brought their A-Game, but were out-drifted by Shane Gutzeit, Jim Mc Farlane, Zanil Satar and Jason Webb respectively in some of the closest tandems to date.

This is where the switch was turned on and the Top 4 pairings rendered some brilliant tyre-to-tyre tandems. Jim Mc Farlane went door to door with Shane Guitzeit and it went into a One More Time with Mc Farlane the victor. Zanil Satar put on the pressure in a close encounter when up against Jason Webb but failed to beat his rival.

Shane Gutzeit went on to face Zanil Satar in the battle for 3rd and emerged the victor. In the Final Jason Webb was pushed to the very end by Jim Mc Farlane, which went to an OMT. Mc Farlane, in his pursuit of a win and in the lead position, smashed the rear clip in the form of a cone at the top of the first corner and handed the relentless Webb the win. Webb now boasts 3 from 3 wins in his 2018 SupaDrift Series Title pursuit.
