2017 SA Motocross Nationals Terra Topia Race Report

The final round of the 2017 Monster Energy TRP Distributors SA MX National Championship took place at Terra Topia over the weekend. With only one of the nine championships wrapped up, it came down to the wire and produced an incredible day of racing. A record number of spectators made their way out to witness the action.

In the Premier MX1 class it was a close battle between rookie Tristan Purdon and David Goosen for the championship but it was Purdon who took the title in the last heat of the day by finishing in 3rd overall. Goosen managed to win the overall for the day but, when it came down to the points, was just out of reach of the title. An on pace Kerim Fitz-Gerald finished in 2nd for the day. Michael Kok made his return to racing and finished in an impressive 4th place.
