Consistent 4 to 6 foot surf pumped throughout the day at the 2016 JBU Supertrail presented by RVCA in JBay. Spectators enjoyed long tube rides and powerful rail surfing from the 24 invited surfers.
JBay local, Steven Sawyer was trailing behind Dale Staples in the final when he scored a long wave at the end of the heat and secured the overall win. Sawyer claimed the wildcard entry into the WSL Jbay Open Championship Tour with his win.
In the lead for most the final was Dale Staples but he lost out to Sawyer’s late charge and ended up in 2nd place. Dylan Lightfoot finished in the 3rd with Sean Holmes in 4th.
Best Wave was won by Davey Van Zyl, Best Carve by Sean Homes, Best Barrel by Remi Peterson and the Toilet Award was taken by Calvin Goor.
