Over the Easter Weekend round 2 of the 2015 Supadrift Series took place at the MonsterMob Raceway in Kimberly bringing with it a host of drifting action. The event was set to take place on the Saturday but had to be postponed until the Sunday due to a water-logged track.

It was great to see the international contingent of Zanil Satar and Richat Kahn from Mozambique competing and both qualifying into the Top 16. Zein Hussein qualified in 3rd and went all the way through to the final but had to settle for 2nd after a mechanical tripped him up in the final.

Team mates Jim McFarlane and Mikey Skelton were off pace and finished in 10th and 12th respectively. Noer Asmodein from Cape Town impressed with a well earned 7th place finish. 2014 champ Wade van Zummeren, who didn’t have the best of starts at Supadrift 01, claimed the 3rd place putting some much needed points on the board.

The length of the track played in favour of the V8 powered cars. Otto Graven dominated the field from the get go and took home a very convincing victory. Paired with his Nascar V8 powered drifting machine Otto is a force to be reckoned with.

Supadrift Series next heads to Zwartkops Raceway for Round 3 on the 1st and 2nd May.
