Event 1 of the Billabong Junior Series presented by BOS finished in excellent style at Magnatubes in JBay. Fun and contestable waves saw competitive surfing throughout the event. With some tricky sections, wave selection was crucial and a few surfers stood out.
Nathan Spalding won the U12 Boys division after a tight fought final against Christian Venter.
Kai Woolf emerged victorious in the U14 Girls division, while Angelo Faulkner claimed victory in the U14 Boys Division.
Kai Woolf was victorious once again in the U16 Girls division. Sebastian Williams edged out Ford van Jaarsveldt in the final to win the U16 Boys.
The premier U20 Girls division saw the girls fighting it out in the right-handers and when the final siren went it was Nicole Pallet who took the win over Olivia Brand.
In the U20 Boys division it was the USA surfer, Eithan Osborne who took the win. He went up against local Dylan Lightfoot in the final, needing a mid-range 7 score, Lightfoot went for an air in the dying seconds but it wasn’t enough to take the win.
