The 2014 Hurley SA Junior Surfing Champs is underway at Lower Point in Jeffreys Bay and will run until the 12th October showcasing SA’s top surfers aged 17 and younger.
Entrants will compete for both individual and team national titles, lucrative awars and national team blazers. The contest will feature the top surfers who have qualifies for their provincial team through selections trails.
Will defending champions, Western Province, take home the Freedom Cup again after dethroning Eastern Province in 2013 or wil one of the other competing provinces take the title? Only time will tell.
Surfers will also be competing for several special awards – the Red Bull Best Air, Island Tribe Best Tube, Skullcandy Team Spirit, Oakley Highest Heat Score and 2 surboards shaped by Mayhem’s Matt Biolos. One lucky surfer will receive a flight from All Aboard Travel to join a Zigzag photoshoot surf trip.
