2013 Women’s Surf Challenge Results

This past weekend saw the 2013 Women’s Surfing Challenge take place in cloudy and smallish surf conditions at Dairy Beach in KZN and in perfect 4 foot surt at Long Beach in Kommetjie. Over 40 surfers participated in the events exclusively for women.

Sarah Baum dominated in KZN winning both the Under 20 and Open division titles while Tanika Hoffman won the Open division at Long Beach.

Heather Clark, the legendary SA surfer, was the runner up with Kat Steffen taking 3rd ahead of Heidi Palmboom in 4th in the Open division at Dairy Beach. Tarryn Chudleigh finished in 2nd with Tasha Mentasti in 3rd and Faye Zoetmulder in 4th in the Long Beach Open division.

In the Under 20’s division Teal Hogg came 2nd with Heidi Palmboom taking 3rd and Chanelle Both 4th in KZN.

Anoush Zakarian took the victory in both the Under 20 and 16 divisions at Long Beach while Chanelle Botha took the win in the Under 16 division in KZN. Cara Stubbs came 2nd with Ruth Armstrong 3rd and Pippa Jones 4th in the Under 20 division at Long Beach. Ruth Armstrong came 2nd in the Under 16 division with Cara Stubbs in 3rd and Kiah Bettison taking 4th.

In KZN, Teal Hogg took 2nd with Olivia Brand in 3rd and Jade Mets in 4th in the Under 16 final.
