Moose – how did you come to get into rock and metal?
Watching television when I was a kid in the late 80s.
What was the first metal album you ever bought? And was it tape or CD?
Limp Bizkit – Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavoured Water in 2000, fortunately after tapes.
How did 11th Hour come to be?
The concept started with Brandon and Moose but after a few years and members 11th hour came to be what it is now in 2008.
Where did you guys play your first ever gig?
Vaughan’s Pool Terrace in Edenvale (now Rockabillies).
How do you deal with haters?
We ignore them but acknowledge criticism…
What would most of your fans be surprised to know about you?
We’re nerds and Brandon was once Justin Bieber.
Describe the average week in the life of an 11th Hour band member.
Writing music, playing video games, drinking, seeing friends and just enjoying life. Our day jobs fit in there somewhere.
What would you say you’re doing differently to your contemporaries in the music industry?
We’re not screaming in peoples’ ears constantly.
What drives the band, what’s your passion?
The music and more importantly the crowds we play to.
Who are some of your biggest influences?
Limp Bizket, Justin Bieber, Korn, Britney Spears and the Deftones.
Who do you guys admire locally?
Only Forever, Pestroy, Fragmented Children, Chromium and We Shall Embrace.
What’s the one thing about South African audiences you guys love?
The true fans and of course the chicks!
And what’s the one thing you’d like to change?
The level of support by local fans and having music like ours played on mainstream radio stations and TV channels.
Describe your ultimate gig /concert/show.
Big crowds and nice sound, like festivals!
