If there’s one stop on the UCI Downhill World Cup calendar where things are guaranteed to get crazy, it’s Les Gets.
The French resort has built a reputation for delivering some of the wildest, rowdiest and most unpredictable racing of the entire season – and in 2026, Les Gets somehow managed to take things to another level.
This wasn’t just another World Cup. This was one for the history books!
The French don’t just watch downhill racing in Les Gets — they live it.
Max Alran had already laid down a statement in qualifying, despite a crash, taking the fastest time in the treacherous wet and muddy conditions. But qualifying is one thing. Standing in the start gate as the final rider, knowing the fastest men in the world are waiting at the bottom, is something else entirely.
The pressure was massive.
In the Finals, Alran attacked the course, survived the chaos and kept it together when it mattered most. He crossed the finish line with the fastest time of the day, securing his first Elite Men’s UCI Downhill World Cup victory.
You couldn’t script it better.
It was one of those moments that instantly became part of World Cup history.
Adding even more fuel to the party in 2026 was Monster Energy, joining the UCI Downhill World Cup as the official Energy Drink Partner, a pretty perfect match bringing elevated good times and vibes to the races.
Monster Energy, welcome to the World Cup Racing.
The wildest World Cup of the year? We’d say that’s a pretty safe bet!
