Ever dream of performing in front of thousands of fans with the likes of Milky Chance, The kooks and The Cat Empire? Vodacom will again make that dream a reality. Vodacom Open the City is back and will choose one of SA’s most talented acts to open for the heavyweights at Vodacom In The City taking place at Emmarentia Dam on 4 October. They will also receive a R30 000 cash prize.
#VOTC2015 is looking for entrants from all music genres, so don’t be afraid to enter here. Just fill in a form and upload links to your music, a photos and the band logo. The judging panel with shortlist the entries to 5 final bands, produce video for these bands and the fans will vote for their favourite act. This 5 bands will also perform on the 20th September at a fringe event.
Following is the required criteria for entrants and entries must be in before midnight on the 16th August.
- Minimum of 2 years live performance experience.
- Must have a minimum of 45 minutes of original material.
- Must have played to an audience of at least 2000.
- Must have been playlisted on a campus or commercial radio station.
- Must be able to perform on 20 Sept and 2 Oct in JHB (CT finalists will be flown up).
The 5 finalists will be announced on the 31st August.
