Rolling Stone Magazine SA in association with Kraken Black Spiced Rum have been running a killer South African music competition called The Rolling Stone Rockstarter, giving local bans the chance to compete for an album recording, performances at multiple events, become a rock ambassador for Kraken Black Spiced Rum for a full year and a feature in the Rolling Stone Magazine SA.
The judges were faced with 56 talented bands and finally whittled the entries down to two bands that made the best impressions at their gigs in Joburg and Cape Town. Announcing Cortina Whiplash and Ballistic Blues as the finalists.
The competition winner will be announced at a gig tomorrow night, 15th August, at Mercury Live in Cape Town. More awesome news is that The Black Cat Bones will be making a guest appearance at the gig and there will be plenty of prizes given out, from Kraken Black Spiced Rum bottles to hampers…don’t miss out!
