As promised last week, here is our interview with rock-a-billy sensation, Peachy Keen. The band chats to us about their EP, Backseat Bingo amongst other things (like Sailor Jerry rum, tattoos and pin up girls). Peachy Keen will be launching their EP this Friday, 11th of May at Mercury Live – so if you’re in Cape Town we recommend it – it sounds like it’s gonna be a fat jol! Entrance is only R40.00 (or R100.00 with a copy of Backseat Bingo) and doors open at 9pm.

Since 2007, this Joburg band has been rocking local audiences in and around the City Of Gold. Now in 2012 Only Forever are back from a little hiatus with a line-up change and a new album – Horizons Sets Fire – ready to conquer new audiences. The first single Black Sunday is gonna drop soon, so we decided to chat to bass-player Nick Gibbs about recording, touring and all that other band stuff…

We chat to SA’s Next Big Thing, Man As Machine – the band currently attracting some attention from rock fans with their current single We Are The Dreamers. They’ve just recently released their debut album and scored a sponsorship with Monster Energy SA. Suffice as to say, the guys that like to play some cool tunes, get crazy (and occasionally naked) are going places.

The end of 2011 saw Van Coke Kartel release their much anticipated fourth full-length album, “Wie’s Bang” and embark on a nationwide tour which involved them playing in several different parts of the country in just one day (J –Bay, Stillbaai, Pretoria, Johannesburg, Cape Town). Could other bands maintain that kind of pace and still deliver a world-class rock ‘n roll performance? Yeah, we think not. There’s no denying that Van Coke Kartel are one of a kind, and “Wie’s Bang” solidifies this original status. LW Mag chatted to Wynand about the new album, band members’ recent nuptials and who is the last man standing in the band after a proper jol!
