Every skater knows the feeling of been chased away from prime skate locations. On Sunday 27th July that will change as the Library Gardens in Joburg CBD will be unlocked for the Skateboarding community to skate their hearts out and lat it all on the line to see who claims the Red Bull Unlocked title.
The unique one-day skate event give competitors the chance to skate an area that would normally be prohibited. Sam Khumalo, Skater and MC for the event, is excited about what this event offers local skaters who have always had a rough time trying to skate at Library Gardens.
The event is open to all skaters who just need to pitch up on the day. Registration starts at 10am with 1st place taking home R10 000, 2nd place R5 000 and 3rd place R3 000.
3 of SA’s most esteemed skateboarding community’s peers, Wandile Msomi, Puddy Zwennis and Luke Jackson, will judge the event and undoubtedly have their work cut out for them.
