Red Bull King of the Air 2014 Competitor Lineup Announced

In just a few weeks time, 25th January, the time frame window for the Red Bull King of the Air 2014 opens. The list of selected competitors to compete in this world class Kiteboarding event have been released.

This year Aaron Hadlow, 5 time World Kiteboarding Champion will be joining defending champions Rueben Lenten and Jesse Richman, and is amped for the title. When questioned about who he thought had the best chance of winning, his diplomatic answer was that anyone could take the win and that there is no stand out rider as you can never know what will be pulled out of the bag come the contest. He also stated that the overall win is very reliant on weather conditions and each rider excels in various wind strengths.

24 Kiteboarders have been confirmed for this year’s event. Hadlow will join 3 other wildcars riders, Linus Erdman, Alex Pastor and Reno Romeu. The top 12 riders from 2013 have automatic entry and the remaining 8 riders were selected from entries online.

The REd Bull King of the Air Kiteboarding event is set to hit Cape Town
The “Cape Doctor”, Cape Town’s famous south easterly wind always ensures great conditions at Blouberg ‘s Big Bay, the location for the Red Bull King of the Air. The prime location makes for gnarly tricks and huge airs when the wind conditions are right.
