In a fiercely fought final Soweto’s Soulistic Fusion Trio took on Cape Town’s Ninja Turtles to claim the Red Bull Beat Battle title at Walter Sisulu Square in Soweto.
Soulistic Fusion Trio took on seven of the best dance crews from the past four Red Bull Beat Battle’s; Freeze Frame, Artistic Intelligence, Ninja Turtles, Via Volcano, Prophelaz, The Reptilez and Fire, and were the only crew in the semis to not have claimed the title before.
The event celebrated local street dance from Pantsula to B-Boying with each crew bringing their unique flavour. The judging panel of Lorna Maseko, Somizi Mhlongo, Lorcia Cooper and Vouks were mesmerised by the talent of the dancers.
The night saw performances by DJ Switch, Kat la Kat, DJ Speedsta, Sibot and more, all serving as the perfect send off to this celebration of SA dance and music culture.
