What’s been going on in the life of Courtney since we last featured you?
In 2016 I met my Partner, Brad Binder, and since then I made the decision to accompany him in his Moto 2 journey overseas.
How much do you feel you have changed and grown as a woman over the last few years?
I feel the older I get the more mature and wiser one gets. You learn that failures don’t define you and that each thing happens according to God’s plan. You only realise how short life is in hindsight and how important it is to live life to its fullest potential, as time is the only precious commodity that we cannot get back. Throughout life’s downfalls it’s important to learn from our mistakes as we are stronger because of it.
What inspires you?
I believe all things are possible through God who strengthens me. It is something that no person nor circumstance can take away .
Life has a way of throwing curveballs our way every now and then. How do you best deal with unexpected situations and make sure you come out of them a better and stronger person?
I choose to face those obstacles head on, and try look for every positive in every situation. As positive thoughts generate positive outcomes .
What can you tell us about yourself that you think will surprise us?
I have a serious sweet tooth addiction.
Would you say you are a more calculated or spontaneous person?
In-between. Balance is key.
For those that don’t know, you are dating one of South Africa’s sporting heroes – Brad Binder. How would you best explain the life a MotoGP Moto 2 rider’s partner?
It’s important to be very understanding and supportive, as well as easy going. You are the person that they rely on and you need to learn to be selfless during those stressful times to try alleviate their pressure.
What is the behind-the-scenes at the races experience like and what part of it do you enjoy the most?
There is a lot more that goes on behind-the-scenes than what people may realise. The early mornings, late nights, the pressure on each and every rider as well as the team, including the mechanics. Each rider and constructor work tirelessly to produce the best possible competition. However the best part for me is at the end of the race when I have reassurance that both Binder brothers have crossed that finish line safely.
You have traveled to quite a few countries and cities. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
Every country has their own amazing aspects, and that makes it difficult to choose a specific one. However, there is still nothing like home , because I truly believe that our country has so much potential.
You are extremely confident in front of the camera. Would you say that comes from experience or from personality?
I would say it comes from both as I am a very outgoing and confident person. From a young age I have always loved to preform. I danced from the age of 3 as well as competed in many pageants and later on in life competed in many fitness shows.
Which part of your body do you enjoy flaunting the most?
I believe as women we should love ourselves in our entirety rather than being defined by a body part. Everyone is beautiful in their own way.
A day in the life of Courtney?
Each day is unpredictable when traveling so I take it as it comes.
What’s the first thing that comes to mind when we mention:
Good times? Party.
Late nights? Memories.
