Let’s be honest boys, beautiful women are pretty intimidating. Now, beautiful, smart, pole-dancing, snake-charming Playmates, on the other hand, make us want to do a pathetic rendition of the Wayne’s World “We’re not worthy!”. Victoria de Lima is the latter type of woman. The former LW Mag calendar girl and current South African June Playboy Playmate is just too hot for most of us to handle. You are featured as this month’s (June 2011) Playboy Playmate! How was the experience for you?
The experience I have had so far with Playboy has been on another level of professional, top class, insightful, life/career changing - the list can go on and on. Being a part of Playboy is just inexplicable, I feel like I have entered a new stage in my career, because to me, was barely even considered in the past, because of how immensely big it is all over the world. The team were absolutely wonderful, [I] felt like I had worked with them in my passed life because of how comfortable I felt. We had a fantastic full day of shooting, we worked extremely hard, nonstop but I embraced every moment of it. I will never forget my Playmate shoot, I am proud to be associated and branded as a Playmate for Playboy magazine, it will stay with me forever.
What made you decide to take on the opportunity to be a Playmate?
The public in SA still have a distorted view on how nudity can be perceived, Playboy magazine oozes the sensuality, form and beauty of every type/look of women, it is classy, utterly tasteful and appeals to both men and women. Being a Playmate gives me the insight into being more than just a body to a brand, Playboy sets the platform to allow me to be a brand ambassador for them and to change, or rather better the way in which a woman’s silhouette can be portrayed. I finally found a brand that acknowledges and appreciates the full package that I have to offer in this industry, I am a person in these pics, there is a real, astonishing woman here in what you see and Playboy has opened new doors for my professional future.
One of your interest is the art of pole dancing – have you had any bad experiences on the pole and what advice would you give to any other ladies that would like to try it out?
I haven’t really had any bad experiences on the pole and I would certainly recommend it to other ladies, anyone can do it, it is a great way to tone up and still feel sexy while getting a workout.
Explain to us one of your favourite moves on the pole?
I don’t have a favourite move on the pole, I just love to come home in the evenings, put some sensual music on and do routines on the pole - just enjoy it from the spins to climbing the pole. It is extremely exhausting though, a very intense workout!
What other hobbies do you have?
I have recently started snake charming, I love to dance, sing and my ultimate passion is music. I also enjoy reading autobiographies as well as motivational/inspirational speaking – I believe one of my main purposes in life is to add value to other’s lives through what I do .
If you were offered the opportunity to win the lotto on one condition that you had to spend it all in one day, what would you spend the money on?
I would spend the money on all the special people in my life that have supported, loved, cared and continuously made my life complete just by being there for me.
Guys; what attracts you to them?
I am attracted to the guy that stands out in the crowd, naturally and effortlessly.
What one thing makes you feel sexy?
I feel sexy and most myself when I’m dressed down, with no makeup on and just relaxed.
When on a shoot, do you mind all the people staring at you when you pose and how does it make you feel?
While shooting, most of the time the crew is extremely professional, so I don’t experience people staring, because everyone is there for a purpose to achieve a specific look for the end result. Most of us in the industry take our work seriously and it is never just about me, the model, it is a team effort to do a job well done. I am extremely focused in my career so I try to ignore or block out any distractions, if there may be any.
A word of advice to a guy that wants to take you out on a date?
A guy that takes me out on a date should be humble, respectful, knowledgeable and he must love food!
