Organisers of the Cape Town Bike Festival announced yesterday the first of several bands to Tour South Africa at the upcoming festival which takes place at the Cape Town Stadium from 16th-18th December 2011.

One of these bands will be none other than Seether! The guys released their fifth studio LP by Wind Up Records in May 2011. Produced by the legendary Brendan O’Brien, HOLDING ONTO STRINGS BETTER LEFT TO FRAY has been winning rave reviews from both fans and critics alike, with the press touting this as Seether’s best album ever. Their first single “Country Song” has been a radio hit here and abroad.
We recently interviewed bass guitarist Dale Stewart about the new album and the possibility of returning to SA later in the year. He said, “We’re hoping to in December. Nothing is set in stone yet though, but we’re working on it and it’s looking pretty good – it’s definitely a high priority for us.” And well, now they’ll be performing in December and we can’t wait!
You can read the rest of our interview with Seether here.
Seether’s unique brand of post-grunge rock will take to the stage at The Cape Town Bike Festival and get fans roaring for more with familiar tracks such as “Remedy”, “Fake it” and “Rise Above This” grinding up the velvet sound waves. Lead singer Shaun Morgan commented, “It’s always great to return home to South African shores and fans, there’s a unique sense of patriotism amongst SA fans and performers than runs in our veins! We can’t wait to get out there and see our fans again.”

Background:
The Cape Town Bike Festival (CTBF) is the first of its kind in South Africa, combining the world of bikes with live entertainment in the form of international and local bands, unique product displays and a daring dirt bike extravaganza over the 3 day event. The Festival will take place at Cape Town Stadium from 16th to 18th December 2011 and will attract not only the biking fraternity, but additional non-biking music fans, women, children and visitors from around the globe.
Expect to be blown away by eclectic tattoo artists and amped up Supercross events by day, left in awe by the sizzling hot Miss Biker SA finalist’s, and the logic-defying Masters of Dirt and their spectacular shows will thrill festival goers by night. Then, just as the dust of dusk begins to settle at the Cape Town Bike Festival, the hardcore party animals will be revved to the ‘nth degree by the ripping acoustics and sublime electro-centric performances of big-name-bands and DJ’s with a mission to shake up the city.
