The weekend of the 11-12 May promises to be alive with roaring and skidding when drift cars permeate the silence. The SupaDrift Series starts its annual campaign with its opening round at Carnival City Casino and Entertainment World. The 2018 national drifting championship is set to be the most anticipated contest in its 9 year history and promoters XS Promotions have promised it to be a ‘Tabula Rasa’ event!
Drivers like Jim McFarlane will certainly bring the challenge to the rest of the talented field as he attempts to defend his 2017 title. Series title challenger and two times national champion, Jason Webb, has much to prove in the upcoming season when he puts his Roush Performance ‘Monstang’ to the ultimate test. Shane Gutzeit, 2016 national champion, hailing out of Port Shepstone – says that he too understands the task at hand but will make it count; and has opened up the dialogue in unexpected form on social media with perpetuating challenges to all drivers.
The Series this year also welcomes new partners to the mix. Dragon Energy, official energy drink, Motul oils and lubricants and ST Suspension, all who have invested their product and digital assets into the already strong partner mix alongside long term presenting sponsors like Achilles Tyres.
Tickets are available at the door – R100 for adults and R50 for children.
